FedEx flies terminally ill girl home
In this heartbreaking story about a family trying to get their terminally ill little girl home, it is refreshing to see a positive story in these negative times about an American corporation (Fedex) doing a good deed.
Too often we hear about our "evil", "greedy" corporations, and not enough about the generosity and human aspect of our corporations which occurs daily. It is refreshing to see that the majority of those that commented on the Harrison Daily Times article understand this as well.
Hats off to FedEx for their compassion and class!!

Had enough?
UPDATE: Another flashback to 2008 Election Campaign
Had we been paying close attention we would have seen this coming. Actually, a great number of us knew there was trouble down the road. Unfortunately, I'm not sure anyone truly grasped just how much trouble. We do now!

How *festive*! In case you don't recognize it, the building pictured is the Empire State Building. On Thursday it will be all dressed up in red and yellow lights to celebrate The 60th anniversary of communist China . . . Say What?
I can't put my finger on it, but *something* about this bothers me (my tongue is firmly implanted in my cheek!). But WAIT, there's more. The Chinese anniversary was also celebrated in Washington DC. Take a look!
. . . I guess China does own about all of our mushrooming debt, and probably a good portion of our cities. Perhaps this obligates us to commemorate their revolutionary beginnings. I'm just being xenophobic again, aren't I? Where'd I leave my Prozac?
Party on!

Awaken O, America
I have a feeling that perhaps you needed this palate cleansing as bad as I did. I shed a few tears, but it helped me refocus (something we ought to do daily) on what we're all doing here! March on!

If the YouTube video of the school children in New Jersey chanting praises to our unwisely elected leader doesn't bother you, you REALLY need to stop drinking that purple Kool-Aid! It raises all sorts of red flags in my mind, and it also reminded me of this:
. . . George (Orwell and Washington) is spinning!
